Renzo Castillo, Executive Director
Prior to founding FirstPV, Renzo worked in the real estate/project finance and investment banking industries for over five years as both a sell-side advisor and buy-side investor. While at Centerline Capital Group, a leading tax credits equity investor and syndicator, Renzo directed critical projects including the acquisition, structuring and asset management of $500mm developments in the affordable housing space. At Citigroup Alternative Assets, Renzo advised on transactions and provided leveraged financing to the largest private equity funds in the world. Renzo was also part of the mergers and acquisitions team at Credit Suisse, based in New York, where he managed the financial due diligence for and executed $1.7bn cross-border transactions.
Renzo graduated with honors from the University of California at Berkeley with a BS in Economics and received his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Robert Toigo Fellow. Renzo holds dual nationality in Peru and the U.S. He lives in San Francisco, CA.
Ivan La Frinere-Sandoval, CEO
Ivan La Frinere-Sandoval has worked in the solar PV industry for over seven years in all segments of the value chain. While at Trina Solar, a leading vertically integrated solar module manufacturer, he led the $150mm project investment team, $400mm capital raise, $700mm procurement restructuring, $800mm Changzhou supplier co-location PV industry park, $4.4bn manufacturing capacity expansion, and $500mm polysilicon refining plant. At SolarCity, a leading residential and commercial solar developer, Ivan developed an internal project finance model in conjunction with an analysis of the commercial portfolio, including a comprehensive audit of a 1.1MW system and various residential systems. At Credit Suisse, Ivan completed capital raising and M&A transactions worth $8bn.
Ivan graduated from Caltech with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Finance and received his MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
